Aisha Association signs a cooperation agreement with spinning and weaving factories
Aisha Association signed agreements with factories that operate the trainees within the project (Women able to compete: more job opportunities for young women in Gaza City), in the presence of Prof. Elias Al-Jalada, Chairman of the Board of Directors, and Prof. Reem Frinah, Executive Director of the Association.
This project comes in partnership with the German Corporation for International Cooperation (GIZ), funded by Federal Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), and in cooperation with Palestinian Federation of Garment, Textile and Leather Industries.
The project aims to increase the required skills for employment purposes for female graduates from universities, colleges, and technical and vocational institutes to facilitate their access to the labor market, in addition to networking and improving the capabilities of private sector companies as operators in linking job opportunities with graduate skills, by training a number of young female graduates for the specialty of design Fashion and clothing for the age group (18-25 years) and sorting them on a number of sewing factories affiliated with the Palestinian Federation for the Apparel and Textile Industry, and then hire 60% of the female trainees candidates for a period of no less than six months after the end of the training period inside those factories.
It is notable that Aisha Association for Women and Children protection is an independent Palestinian women's association established in 2009, which aims to achieve integration between the sexes through economic empowerment programs and psychological and social support for marginalized groups in Gaza Strip with a focus on Gaza City and the northern region.
